Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice..: At the Sugar Club this October

by Michelle McGlynn

Our favourite bio-exorcist is making his way on to the big screen once again when the Sugar Club screens Beetlejuice on Tuesday October 23rd. Get yourself in the Halloween mood by attending Mean Screen’s night in the Sugar Club complete with a special Beetlejuice cocktail.

Newlyweds Adam (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara (Geena Davis) are killed in an accident. As they adjust to their afterlife as ghosts they return the their love nest. When an obnoxious New York couple and their shy daughter (Winona Ryder) move in, Adam and Barbara must try to scare them out so they can get their home back. They quickly run into difficulty when they realise they are about as scary as a cuddly teddy bear. The two go in search of guidance and happen upon scare consultant Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton). However, they get far more than they bargained for with Betelgeuse and soon their new tenants are the least of their problems.

Do you feel like your life is a dark room? One. Big. Dark. Room? Come to the Sugar Club, enjoy some free popcorn, drink a couple of Beetlejuices and have a dance to Day-O. It is sure to liven your spirits. Go back to classic, pre-Alice in Wonderland Tim Burton. When he was talented, entertaining and original. Remember when you thought he could do no wrong? So do we, little did we know back then. Get in the mood for Halloween and come in your best Beetlejuice-themed costume. It is sure to be a fun night and you can be sure that you won’t be utterly alone. Tickets are €5 and doors open at eight. Find more details here:
